Gera Estate

Gera Estate is a 1000 hectare co-operative in the Jimma zone of Oromia. Aklilu Taye overseas the co-operative which harvests approximately 500,000kg of coffee cherries annually. The Estate is currently working towards it's organic certification as it is currently not using any chemical fertilizers or pesticides.

 Co-operatives such as Gera Estate provide a essential services for the coffee community. Producers involved in these co-operatives are able to share resources and equipment, access large markets and improve coffee quality.
